The Directory overthorws the Committee of Public Safety
The Directory has replaced the Committee of Public Safety.
Yesterday, the Constitution of the year III was approved and said that the Committee of Public Safety was going to be replaced by the Directory.
The execution of Robespierre in July of 1794 represented a reactionary period against the Committee of Public safety known as the thermidorran reaction. So yesterday, the Constitution of the year III was created, and in it is written down that a new group called the Directory was replacing the Committee of Public Safety.
The Directory ntention is preventing that all the power was concentrated in the hands of one man, that´s why it is made up of 5 members that are going to be replaced one by one each year, for preventing that anyone of them becomes a tyrant, like Robespierre.
