The great scare of the Lumiére brothers
THE CINEMATOGRAPH
The new entertaiment of the people
The last year, 1895, in France the Lumiére brothers inventors of cinematograph, a machine able to shoot and project cinema films, made their big debut with his film called ´Departure of the workers of the Lumière factory in Lyon Monplaisir`, it was the first documentary, as a silent film with a duration of 46 seconds.
The following year Auguste Marie Louis and Louis Jean Lumiére published ´The arrival of a train at the Ciotat station´ in a Parisian cafe, all the people who were there were scared to see how a locomotive was going towards them at a great speed.
Thanks to this projection the first short shots appear, seeing how the passengers move along the platform towards the camera lens.
