A democratic Constitution!

Yesterday, 1 of June of 1869, a new constitution has been approved, in Spain.

This constitution adopted by the provisional government is formed after the triumph of the Glorious revolution of 1868, that ended the autocratic reign of Isabel II, presided over by the General serrano called for elections to constituent Cortes.

This is the sixth constitution of the constitutions of Spain and recognize the right of freedom of religion for the first time.

One of the characteristics of this constitution is the division of powers. The power to make laws resides in the Cortes, formed by the Congress and the Senate. Justice is administered in the name of the king.

Yesterday, this constitution was approved for a total of 214 votes against 55.
