BONAPLATA´S FACTORY

The past August 5th of this year of 1835, Bonaplata´s textile factory , known as ¨Bonaplata´s Steam¨ has been burned .
The manufacture of woven fabrics and threads that were inaugurated three years ago, in 1832, was shown of a progressive Catalan industrialization since it worked for the most innovative steam machines of the state.
Bonaplata´s burning was a Luditte reaction of the origins of the worker movement that also was given in England and in which machines were destroyed as a protest by the social conditions, since they thought the workplaces were reduced .
One of the children of Bonaplata´s family and many operators tried to defend it in the confrontatons which as a consequence brought a strong represions with executions and hard laws were established to prevent disturbancies later in factories .
